Features

ICON rupture discs protect nearly every type of transportation vessel – road, rail or naval shipping – from potentially damaging overpressure conditions. The ICON bursting disc is ideal for installation beneath pressure relief valves due to its non-fragmenting design.

ICON and ICON-TL rupture discs have all the same performance features, but we’ve fully fluoropolymer-lined the ICON-TL on all wetted surfaces, making it ideal for applications involving highly corrosive media.

The ICON and ICON-TL are:

High-quality – manufactured from a single sheet of metal, then scored and tested
Long-lasting – polished smooth on the process side to prevent any process media accumulation
Corrosion-resistant – due to fluoropolymer liners on the process side of the disc
Self-aligning – an outlet ring assures proper positioning with the valve or mating outlet flange
Reliable – capable of withstanding full vacuum without vacuum support
Leak-tight – inlet and outlet fluoropolymer gaskets seal the system
Non-fragmenting – ideal for isolating pressure relief valves

Our composite rupture discs consist of two or more metallic or non-metallic components. A single, solid, phenolic resin-impregnated slab of graphite makes up the GRAFSERT rupture disc. This design makes the GRAFSERT a highly dependable, low-maintenance rupture disc, ideal for highly corrosive applications and remote installations. The GRAFSERT is single-direction disc capable of withstanding burst ratios up to 80% in static service.

Need an economical corrosion barrier or environmental seal? The ENVIRO-SEAL rupture disc will do the job with excellent performance and a non-fragmenting design. The ENVIRO-SEAL is a flat seat, composite rupture disc that installs between standard bore ASME, DIN or JIS companion flanges. Use it to isolate the downstream side of low-pressure atmospheric store vessels, pressure relief valves and other equipment from corrosive environments.
