What are the properties of 304/304L stainless steel?

Stainless steel 304/304L (SS 2333) is a versatile material with good corrosion resistance, especially to slightly acidic and slightly chloride environments.

The 304L variant contains lower carbon content, which improves weldability and minimizes the risk of grain boundary corrosion after welding.
In the food and pharmaceutical industries, 304L is often used in components where cleanliness and hygiene are important, such as SMS nuts, TC clamps, clamping sleeves and other fluid handling parts.

What are the properties of 316 stainless steel?

Acid-resistant steel 316 (SS 2343) offers very high corrosion resistance to salts, acids and more aggressive chemical environments than the 304 series can handle. The material also has good weldability without the need for subsequent heat treatment.
