MINTRX® Rupture Disc

Precision failure-initiating indent, high-precision scoring and a variety of construction materials make the MINTRX rupture disc a versatile and economical overpressure protection option.

MINTRX burst pressures are in the mid-range of the TRX line of scored, reverse-acting rupture disks. Learn more about the ULTRX, for high-pressure applications, or the STAR X, for ultra low-pressure applications.

Product Overview
Features

The MINTRX rupture disc is a low-pressure, scored, reverse-acting rupture disc - a non-reclosing differential pressure-relief device - that protects equipment, vessels and systems from overpressure damage. It also excels at safely isolating pressure-relief valves.

The MINTRX features a non-fragmenting design with uniform petal opening-flow characteristics.

The MINTRX is designed with a standard zero manufacturing range. This enables the system to operate up to 90% of the specified rupture disc burst pressure. Each rupture disc is proof pressure-tested to 90% of the specified rating prior to shipment.

Innovative encapsulating rings

Our encapsulating rings prevent over-torquing from affecting the burst accuracy of the MINTRX. They also:

  • Hold the rupture disc in the proper position
  • Prevent disc slippage when insufficient bolt load is applied to the companion flanges
  • Allow for easier installation

No vacuum support necessary

The MINTRX withstands full vacuum without affecting the burst pressure setting or reliability. No additional components, such as a vacuum support, are required - which means less cost and less worry for you.

Corrosive application? No problem.

The MINTRX works well in corrosive media environments. Versatile material selection and use of thicker materials contribute to outstanding corrosion resistance. A fluoropolymer liner may be used on the process side for additional corrosion protection.

Industry Applications

Chemical Processing
Our rupture disks are manufactured with chemical processing in mind - corrosion resistance, leak tightness, high accuracy and durability come standard.

Food & Beverage Processing
We understand that product purity and safety are critical in food-related industries, so we provide hygienic and aseptic vessels and piping to assure compliance with FDA and 3A requirements.

Oil & Gas (Petrochemical)
The hydrocarbon industries require cost-effective system protection with a special focus on reducing fugitive emissions. Our catalog of configurations, materials, burst ratings and sizes make our rupture discs the right choice for these operations.

Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology
We focus on solutions to meet the stringent requirements of pharmaceutical processing - wherever perfectly hygienic facilities and hermetically sealed antiseptic systems are a must.
