Colly Flowtech invests in sustainability: The factory in Kolbäck is now powered by geothermal energy
We at Colly Flowtech are proud to have taken a new, important step in our sustainability work. Our factory in Kolbäck is now powered by geothermal energy through a modern plant - one of our largest investments in sustainability to date.
The new the geothermal solution provides us with an investment that combines efficiency, long-term economy and sustainability. It makes operations more energy efficient, helps reduce environmental impact and also improves the working environment for our employees, with cooler premises during the summer and a more even temperature all year round.
Geothermal energy - a clear milestone in our sustainability journey
Max Malm, CEO of Colly Flowtech, says:
”The geothermal plant in Kolbäck is a clear milestone in our sustainability journey. For us, it's about taking responsibility, both as an employer and as a partner. We want to be at the forefront, show the way and contribute to a more sustainable industry.”

A long process - and a great sense of pride
Behind the initiative lies a lot of hard work. Jesper Ohlsson, Business Area Manager Stainless Steel, has been one of the driving forces in the project and followed the process from idea to reality.
”This project has been a long process, with many steps and challenges along the way. That's why it feels extra fun and important that we have finally reached the finish line. I feel very proud that we have managed to realize this venture together. It shows our perseverance, our team spirit and our desire to constantly move forward. The geothermal plant is not just a technical solution - it is proof that we are serious about our sustainability efforts.”
Sustainability in practice
This initiative is a clear example of how we are putting our strategic sustainability plan into practice. For us, sustainability is about focusing on the right things, i.e. the areas where we have the greatest impact and where we ourselves can make a difference.
This means not only investing in new technologies, but also developing our entire business in a way that benefits the environment, our customers and our employees.
Julia Miefalk, Quality and Sustainability Manager at Colly Flowtech, explains:
”This plant is a good example of how we are developing our work. We not only want to offer sustainable solutions to our customers, but also act in a long-term and responsible way ourselves. By focusing on the areas where we can have the most impact, we can make a real difference.”

More resources for increased sustainability focus
At the same time, we are further strengthening our team. We welcome Linnea Sundberg as our new Quality and Sustainability Coordinator. She will work closely with Julia to develop our management system, follow up on sustainability work and drive risk analysis forward.
”Linnea will be an important part of our team and help drive our initiatives forward. Her interest in sustainable development and experience in project work make her the right person to strengthen our efforts going forward,” says Julia.
Geothermal energy as a step towards a greener future
We are proud of the new geothermal heating plant in Kolbäck and see it as another important step on our journey towards a more sustainable future. A big thank you to all employees who have contributed to the project - together we are driving development forward, step by step.
