PuraLev® 200SU - Single-use low shear pump for bioprocesses
Safe, clean and low-shear pump design for demanding single-use applications in biotechnology and pharmaceutical production.
Levitronix® has developed an innovative pump with no mechanical bearings to wear out and no seals to break. The pump is based on the principle of magnetic levitation, where the impeller is contactlessly suspended inside a sealed pump casing and driven by the magnetic field of the motor.
Impeller and housing are made of FDA and USP Class VI biocompatible resins. The materials are ABSE/TSE-free and free of animal origin. Together, the impeller and casing form the complete pump head.
By electronically controlling the speed of the rotor, the flow and pressure can be controlled with high accuracy, resulting in a continuous and pulsation-free flow.
The absence of mechanical bearings and the self-sealing pump head design significantly reduce the risk of contamination. In addition, the low-shear pump design and the absence of narrow gaps between impeller and casing allow gentle pumping of sensitive fluids.
The pump casing is fitted with Tri-Clamp connections and has an aseptic seal design.
