GEA Hygienic Leak-Proof Rotary Dampers
GEA’s hygienic leak-proof butterfly valves offer an attractive valve option for mix-proof separation of media. This valve is highly functional, CIP/SIP-compatible, and easy to maintain, ensuring continuous safety in production processes.
In addition to the main opening, the rotating disc allows for the mechanical opening or closing of drain ports, depending on the valve’s position. This minimizes switching losses and ensures the operation of four discs—without additional actuation—and eliminates the need for a corresponding control system. GEA Hygienic Leakage Butterfly Valves are characterized by their hygienic design without a dome or sump and offer all the advantages mentioned above. GEA Hygienic Leakage Butterfly Valves are available in sizes DN 50–DN 100 and 2”OD–4”OD, with manual operation and a pneumatic actuator.

Mixproof separation of the two product areas, when the valve disc is closed, is achieved by two peripheral sealing edges with a leakage chamber between them.
The leak chamber itself drains automatically and is designed so that it can be flushed from one drain port to the other, without any dead zones or shortcuts. With minimal resources, the products are flushed out completely, ensuring optimal cleanability.
To accommodate tight installation spaces and low air consumption, the pneumatic actuators have been made even more compact.
The seamless design ensures optimal cleanability and meets the highest hygiene standards.
Maximum torque at both end positions allows for use on both normally closed and normally open valves. Metal stops ensure precise positioning of the disc. Air-to-spring and air-to-air versions are available.
The integrated T.VIS® interface also makes it possible to securely mount optional accessories—booster cylinders, two-position stops, and end stops. The internal pneumatic system reduces the risk of errors, since there are no external hoses.
All actuators are suitable for use in Ex zones as standard. It must be ensured that all electrical accessories comply with Ex regulations.
