Parker front clamping ring made of Alloy 400 for a 3/16" Parker tube coupling. The clamping ring is one of the most critical components in a clamping ring coupling and requires a carefully engineered design, the right material properties, and high precision in manufacturing to function properly. During installation, the clamping ring must deform precisely—both elastically and plastically—to provide a secure grip on the tube while creating a tight seal. The front edge of the clamping ring must be harder than the tube to ensure a secure grip and seal even over minor scratches and surface defects. If, on the other hand, the entire clamping ring is too hard, it cannot deform properly. Therefore, only the gripping edge of the clamping ring is hardened, while the remaining parts have carefully controlled mechanical properties. The hardening process is also designed so as not to compromise the material’s corrosion resistance. The manufacturing process ensures consistently high quality, tight tolerances, and stable metallurgical properties.Parker Hannifin -

A-LOK® couplings are manufactured as standard in traceable 316 stainless steel and are also available in several other materials, including brass, steel, titanium, 6Mo, and corrosion-resistant nickel alloys.
The product line includes, for example, straight couplings, elbows, T-fittings, bulkhead fittings, adapters, and reducers. The correct coupling and pipe should be selected based on the medium, pressure, temperature, and the environment in which the system will be used.
