[Ex] cameras for tank monitoring

A complete range of stainless steel [Ex] cameras is used worldwide for safe process monitoring. [Ex] cameras meet the highest quality requirements in accordance with the quality commitment ”Swiss Excellence - Since 1936”.

The PoE network cameras are a secure solution for remote monitoring of hazardous areas in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries, as well as in the environmental and energy sectors, especially in the biogas sector.

The cameras are used on closed vessels, such as boilers, agitators, tanks and bioreactors, and on open vessels, such as laboratory mixers. They are also used on flow indicators and pipelines. Thanks to very good light sensitivity, the cameras can also be used in environments with poor lighting conditions.

The range consists of two product series. Each product can be configured to specific needs, making it possible to meet all common application requirements. Below is an overview of the options available:

  • Product ranges: videoLUX® [Ex] S: Enclosure with ⌀79 × 158 mm, videoLUX® [Ex] XS: Enclosure with ⌀47 × 172 mm
  • Compatibility: For sight glasses according to or equivalent to DIN 28120, DIN 28121, DIN 11851, for metal-reinforced sight glasses and for biogas sight glasses
  • Nominal widths / clear visibility: From a clear view of 40 mm (depending on focal length)
  • Possible combinations: With [Ex] lighting fixtures, wipers, motorized wipers and spraying devices
  • Certifications: ATEX, IECEx, INMETRO, EAC-Ex and others.
  • Temperature class: T6
  • Ambient temperature: -20 °C to +50 °C
  • Protection class: IP66/IP68 (according to IEC 60529)
  • Material: Camera: Stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) Junction box (if applicable): Polyester resin
  • Power supply: PoE (single-cable solution)
  • Zoom: With or without motorized varifocal lens
  • Light sensitivity: videoLUX® [Ex] S: 0.0008 lux, videoLUX® [Ex] XS: 0.05 lux
  • Resolution: Full HD (1920 × 1080p)

The cameras are used on closed containers, such as boilers, agitators, tanks and bioreactors, as well as on open containers, such as laboratory mixers. They are also used on flow indicators and pipelines. Thanks to their very good light sensitivity, the cameras can also be used in low-light environments.

Spare parts for cameras

A complete range of spare parts is available for the camera systems. The spare parts meet the highest quality requirements in accordance with the quality commitment ”Swiss Excellence - Since 1936”. As the camera systems are intended for use over several decades, long-term availability of spare parts is of particular importance. Spare parts for the camera systems are therefore 100 % manufactured in Switzerland or Germany. For [Ex] cameras it is particularly important that only original spare parts are used, in accordance with the [Ex] test certificate. The use of non-original spare parts invalidates the test certificate and can lead to safety risks.
