VARINLINE® Housings
The connection piece, known as the VARINLINE® housing, is the core component of the pocket-free in-line system for control and measurement in piping systems.
Depending on the housing's nominal size and the height of the connected instruments, up to two instruments can be mounted on a single VARINLINE® housing.
For the smaller nominal sizes, such as DN10 and DN15, as well as ISO 13.5 through ISO 21.3, only one instrument can be installed.
To accommodate different pipe sizes, the VARINLINE® system offers four different sizes of process connections.
VARINLINE® housings come standard with welded ends. Various welded pipe fittings are also available as options.
The nominal dimensions of the welding tips comply with the following standards:
- Metric: Outer diameter in accordance with DIN 11850, Series II, and DIN 11866, Series A
- Inch OD: Outside diameter in accordance with ASME-BPE-a-2004 and DIN 11866, Series C
- Inches IPS: Outer diameter according to IPS Table 5
- ISO: Outer diameter according to DIN EN ISO 1127
The standard surface finish for surfaces that come into contact with the product depends on the applicable dimensional standard:
- Metric, Inches OD, ISO: Ra ≤ 0.8 μm
- IPS: Ra ≤ 1.2 μm
Surfaces with a higher-quality finish are available as an option. Surfaces that do not come into contact with the product—such as the exterior of the building—have a matte-blasted finish as standard. A sanded exterior finish is also available as an alternative.
