VESTA® H_A Shut-off Valves
VESTA® shut-off valves are used for the controlled shut-off of pipelines in sterile process engineering. Their modular design allows for optimal adaptation of the valve to process requirements and capacity.
In addition to the standard design, the VESTA® valve series also offers valves with stepped bodies for through-flow and for branching process media. The stepped HCA type enables simple and cost-effective integration of VESTA® sterile valves into large nominal pipe sizes when the flow rate is low.
Valve housing
Housings for VESTA® shut-off valves are available with two, three, or four connection ports and can be designed with either one or two housing sections.
The housings for the HCA raised-stem valve type are available in centered or eccentric designs. The eccentric design allows for complete drainage of the through-pipe via the valve outlet when installed horizontally.
Internal unit
The internal assembly of a VESTA® sterile valve consists of a bellows, a pressure washer, an O-ring, and a locking ring. The assembly is screwed onto the actuator’s valve stem via a thread and can be replaced as a complete unit if necessary. The PTFE bellows for shut-off valves up to DN 25, OD 1″, and ISO 33.7 have a conical tip. All other sizes have a flat seating area.
Actuator
The actuator can be pneumatic or manual. The manual version is always made of plastic. Pneumatic actuators are available in plastic or stainless steel, and the fail-safe (normally closed or normally open) position can be easily reversed.
Control and Feedback Systems
Pneumatic actuators come standard with a visual indicator for the valve position. Alternatively, the visual indicators can be replaced with an open feedback unit or with a T.VIS® control and feedback system in various configurations, mounted using a suitable adapter plate.

VESTA® Sterile Valves

VESTA® sterile valves are a great asset for applications ranging from laboratories to highly complex processing facilities, particularly in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and cosmetics industries, but can also be used in the food industry.
Thanks to the hermetic seal of the valve stem with a PTFE bellows, VESTA® sterile valves provide maximum isolation of the process line, thereby contributing to increased product and process safety.
The VESTA® valve series has been specially developed to meet the highest standards for sterile processes in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and cosmetics industries. The valve range offers everything needed to meet the specific needs of these industries. The high-quality valve range includes various valve types, and thanks to its modular design, the valves can also be customized for specific process conditions while meeting all regulatory requirements.
VESTA® valves can be seamlessly integrated into an automated process plant using the T.VIS® control system.

The key component of VESTA® sterile valves is a one-piece PTFE bellows made from TFM 1705. In addition to its excellent chemical resistance to nearly all media, TFM 1705 also complies with all relevant standards for the pharmaceutical industry, such as FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 and USP Class VI.
The high-precision surface finish (Ra ≤ 0.8 μm), the seamless and hermetic seal, and the CIP/SIP-optimized design are further distinguishing features. The patented bellows sealing system reliably isolates the product-contacting area from the atmosphere during all process steps and also seals the valve seat.
- Optimized flow and design without dead spaces
- Optimized CIP/SIP Cleanability
- Hermetic sealing of product-contacting areas with PTFE bellows
- Defined preload of the seal using a metal stop
- Valve in accordance with EHEDG design guidelines
- Self-locking rail nut connection
- Safe and Easy Maintenance
