VESTA® H_A/T Tank Bottom Valves
VESTA® tank bottom valves are used for the controlled shut-off of liquid media from the tank. They are primarily installed at the lowest point of a tank, but the valve can also be completely drained when installed horizontally.
The valve is characterized by its flush-mounted design, which eliminates the possibility of any sump. The dead-space-free design allows for complete emptying of the tank and optimal CIP/SIP cleaning. The robust construction of the housing (and its connection flange) enables seamless integration into processes.
VESTA® tank bottom valves can also be equipped with a side valve. This option is characterized by its compact design and optimal cleaning capabilities, which significantly contribute to process optimization. The side valve can be used for both CIP/SIP feed and drainage.
Valve housing
The housings for VESTA® tank bottom valves are available with two or three process connections. The housings are manufactured from a single solid piece of stainless steel. The two available options are a one-piece housing and flange combination or a housing with a detachable flange. The version with a detachable flange consists of two parts connected to each other with four screws, which are securely sealed with an additional O-ring.
VESTA® tank bottom valves with CIP/SIP side valve: The valve seat on the side valve is directly integrated into the side wall of the tank bottom valve housing. This allows the additional side inlet to be sealed without any dead space.
Internal unit
PTFE bellows for VESTA® tank bottom valves are designed with a flat seat for all valve sizes. They differ from other VESTA® valve types in that they have an extended cone at the seat area.
VESTA® tank bottom valves with CIP/SIP side valve: The PTFE bellows for the side valve are always designed with a flat seating surface and therefore, due to the depth of the housing, feature an extended cone. Overall, the bellows are therefore slightly longer than those in the VESTA® shut-off valve and valve block.
Actuator
The actuators can be operated pneumatically or manually. The manual version is made of plastic. Pneumatic actuators are available in plastic or stainless steel, and the safety position (normally closed or normally open) can be easily changed.
Control and Feedback Systems
Pneumatic actuators come standard with a visual indicator. Alternatively, the visual indicator can be replaced with an open-loop feedback system or with a suitable adapter plate for a T.VIS® control head in various configurations.

VESTA® Sterile Valves

VESTA® sterile valves are a great asset for applications ranging from laboratories to highly complex processing facilities, particularly in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and cosmetics industries, but can also be used in the food industry.
Thanks to the hermetic seal of the valve stem with a PTFE bellows, VESTA® sterile valves provide maximum isolation of the process line, thereby contributing to increased product and process safety.
The VESTA® valve series has been specially developed to meet the highest standards for sterile processes in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and cosmetics industries. The valve range offers everything needed to meet the specific needs of these industries. The high-quality valve range includes various valve types, and thanks to its modular design, the valves can also be customized for specific process conditions while meeting all regulatory requirements.
VESTA® valves can be seamlessly integrated into an automated process plant using the T.VIS® control system.

The key component of VESTA® sterile valves is a one-piece PTFE bellows made from TFM 1705. In addition to its excellent chemical resistance to nearly all media, TFM 1705 also complies with all relevant standards for the pharmaceutical industry, such as FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 and USP Class VI.
The high-precision surface finish (Ra ≤ 0.8 μm), the seamless and hermetic seal, and the CIP/SIP-optimized design are further distinguishing features. The patented bellows sealing system reliably isolates the product-contacting area from the atmosphere during all process steps and also seals the valve seat.
- Optimized flow and design without dead spaces
- Optimized CIP/SIP Cleanability
- Hermetic sealing of product-contacting areas with PTFE bellows
- Defined preload of the seal using a metal stop
- Valve in accordance with EHEDG design guidelines
- Self-locking rail nut connection
- Safe and Easy Maintenance
