Function

Single-seat valves with a switching function are suitable for separating and distributing media. Each valve disc contains only one seal per connecting rod, which separates the respective pipelines from one another. Single-seat valves with a changeover function are therefore not suitable for separating ”hostile” media.

Specific characteristics
  • Certified, hygienic design
  • Mekaniskt mmetal stop
  • Flexibility through it the modular principle
  • Proven sealing geometry

Product distribution With optimized maintenance, radial sealing Single-seat valve, type X_R
Product distribution Long-stroke valve for viscous products or products with large particles Single-seat long-stroke valve, type X_V
Recommended flow direction

To avoid water hammer when the valve closes while product is flowing, single-seat valves with a reversing function should, if possible, be operated against the direction of product flow.

While the Type W single-seat valve is used to combine products from two pipelines, the Type X valve is designed to distribute the product. These valves are characterized by their ease of operation.

Examples of Applications

In practice, these valves are often used in CIP supply and return lines. Another typical application is at the end of a valve block, where the valves are installed as diverter valves between the process line and the drain, for example, during product discharge.

VARIVENT® long-stroke valves are used in the production of products containing relatively large particles or viscous products, such as strawberry yogurt.

The VARIVENT® Series

Thanks to the modular VARIVENT® system, various valve designs are available, including different closing directions for the valve disc, as well as a wide range of options. See the section on options in the catalog for more information.
