Well-thought-out design
The front-mounted seal design minimizes dead zones in the pump and simplifies both cleaning and maintenance. The stainless steel gear housing, bearing housing, splash guard, and cleaning plugs are designed to provide high durability and reliable operation. Taken together, these design features make the ZP3 series a competitive choice for hygienic processes where high standards of hygiene, operational reliability, and ease of maintenance are key factors.

Flexible configuration options
The ZP3 series can be configured for a range of demanding process conditions. Models with a rectangular inlet are particularly well-suited for high-viscosity products, while options such as pressure relief valves and heating jackets can help improve process control. Customized impeller profiles are available for shear-sensitive products and for media containing particles, where gentle and efficient pumping is essential for maintaining product quality.

Cryogenic Low-Temperature Applications
In certain extraction processes—such as those involving CBD and hemp oils—ethanol may need to be pumped at temperatures as low as approximately –56 °C. For these conditions, specially developed seals are available that are designed for operation at very low temperatures.

The ZP3 series’ internal sealing design makes the pump well-suited even for this type of demanding application, offering advantages in terms of both operation and maintenance.

Effective CIP Cleaning
The ZP3 series is designed to facilitate CIP cleaning without compromising pump performance. The front-mounted seal, the updated cover design, and the self-draining design all contribute to improved hygiene.

The lid design is intended to improve the O-ring’s exposure to the CIP solution, while the self-draining design reduces the risk of residual product or cleaning solution. This creates favorable conditions for hygienic operation and effective cleaning.

Option to upgrade from ZP2
For existing ZP2 installations, it is possible to upgrade to the ZP3 design. The ZP3 can be mounted on a ZP2 gearbox housing, which ensures a high degree of interchangeability between components and can simplify the upgrade process.
