T.VIS® V-1 / V-20 Control Head
The T.VIS® V-1 / V-20 is an electric position indicator with a feedback system and optional integrated solenoid valves for linear process valves with a stroke length of up to 30 mm. Thanks to its modular design, the T.VIS® V-1 / V-20 can be adapted to the customer’s specific requirements: without a solenoid valve, with one solenoid valve (for single-acting actuators—with spring, V-1 only), or with two solenoid valves (for double-acting actuators—without spring, V-1 only)
- Automated Programming of Limit Positions
- Easy and safe operation without tools; no need to open the module
- Modular design
- Manual operation of the process valve is possible
- OPEN and CLOSED feedback signals by default
- The accuracy can be adjusted
- Optional: AS-Interface and DeviceNet (T.VIS® V-1 / V-20)
The T.VIS® V-1 programmable control module (Tuchenhagen Valve Information System) is used for pneumatic and/or electrical connection of VESTA valves (stroke length < 10 mm), the programmable control module T.VIS® V-20 for electrical connection of VESTA valves (stroke length max. 30 mm)
The T.VIS® V-1 control module is available
- as an electric position indicator without a solenoid valve
- as a control head with a solenoid valve.
The T.VIS® V-20 control module is an electric position indicator without a solenoid valve.
The T.VIS® V-1 and T.VIS® V-20 control modules consist of a base unit and an add-on module.
Position measurement is integrated into the base unit, and the add-on unit contains the necessary control and regulation electronics.
When the T.VIS® V-1 control module is used as a control head, a solenoid valve is integrated into the base, and the air connections are accessible from the outside of the base. The process valve is supplied with control air via an external hose connection.
As for the position indicator, the pneumatic valve actuation is controlled by a solenoid valve provided by the customer, such as a solenoid valve terminal.
For pneumatic valve actuation of the T.VIS® V-20, the actuator must be connected to a solenoid valve (solenoid valve cluster) provided by the customer.
The operation of the T.VIS® V-1 and T.VIS® V-20 control modules is based on a microprocessor integrated into the housing, which contains the software for operation, visualization, and intelligent detection, control, and evaluation of the valve position. A potentiometer or position sensor mounted in the positioner detects the valve’s stroke and transmits the data to the microprocessor.
After programming, the position indicator uses colored LEDs under the illuminated cover to display the status of the local process valve, which is visible from a distance.
Feedback on the OPEN/CLOSED positions and error messages is provided, depending on the communication type selected by the user, either as a 24 V DC switching output or via an AS-Interface data bit or a DeviceNet data bit.
During programming, the process valve is moved to the OPEN/CLOSED position by activating an external solenoid valve to define the valve's actuated positions.
For the T.VIS V-1 control head, signaling works the same way as described for the position indicator, but the solenoid valve integrated into the base element is activated based on the control signals. These control signals are sent automatically when the actuated positions are programmed using the microprocessor or, in operating mode, via the user’s PLC. In manual mode, the solenoid valve can be activated using buttons that move the process valve to the OPEN or CLOSED position.
In both versions, automatic programming of the activated positions can be enabled either using the buttons on the hood or via an external control signal (programming input).
The buttons on the hood are also used for customer-specific parameter settings of the control module.
